Marking ten years since our distillery was founded in 2016, Ōtautahi Nine represents a milestone in the Divergence Whisky story. Our oldest single malt whisky to date, it brings together nine years of maturation and our founding ambition to create whisky in Ōtautahi Christchurch that captures the natural gifts of Canterbury.

Crafted from 100% Canterbury-grown malted barley and distilled at The Spirits Workshop Distillery, Ōtautahi Nine is matured for nine years in new European oak and ex-New Zealand Tawny casks. Now joining our core range, it is an expression shaped by time, place and the curiosity that has guided us from the beginning.

Tasting Note

Powerful and spice-forward, with notes of rich chocolate oak, dark fruit and warming spice. Nine years in new European oak brings depth and structure, complemented by subtle richness from ex-New Zealand Tawny casks.
