A rare single cask, cask strength release finished in barrels that once held Curiosity Gin Pinot Barrel Sloe — winner of the title New Zealand's Best Sloe Gin multiple times over. This whisky matured for 7 years in Virgin Oak, followed by over 1 year of finishing in a Sloe Gin barrel. This is our longest-aged whisky to date.
The result is a whisky of extraordinary character: the familiar depth of our Canterbury single malt lifted by the wild berry soul of that award-winning gin. Bottled at full cask strength, undiluted and non-chill filtered.
Deeply amber in colour, the nose is full of hazel nuts, toffee, vanilla cream, and summer berries over dark caramel and malt. The taste is rich and mouth-filling with plum, toffee, and chocolate malt. The finish is long and reminiscent of nuts, berries and dark cocoa.
